I am proud to be in my 14th year as the Director of Bands at Mauldin High School and my 20th year teaching.  I hold degrees from Furman University (B.M.) and VanderCook College of Music (M.M.E.).  My inaugural year of teaching was spent at 4 schools in the West Ashley area of Charleston, SC.  In 1999, I became the first band director of Mauldin Middle School where I spent 5 wonderful years.  In 2004, I became the 5th band director of Mauldin High School where I have happily resided ever since.  I am a National Board Certified teacher and a member of Phi Mu Alpha, Phi Beta Mu, Kappa Delta Pi, NAfME, and SCBDA for which I have been an active member of the Solo and Ensemble, Winter Ensemble, and Marching committees.  I am also proud to serve as Lead Band Director for Greenville County Schools and to represent Greenville County as the 2014-2015 School District Teacher of the Year.

The Mauldin High School Band program consists of three concert bands, marching band, jazz band, and three indoor color guards and serves over 200 students many of whom participate in multiple groups.  The band program is a proud recipient of the Outstanding Performance Award, the highest award given by SCBDA to South Carolina bands, for each of the past 12 years.  Students participate in local, state, and national competitions including marching competitions, County Band, Region Band, All-State Band, Concert Festival, Solo and Ensemble, and color guard competitions.  The bands have also performed in college football bowl games in San Antonio, TX and New Orleans, LA, as well as a concert at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL.
